Mobile banking is becoming quite popular in Nigeria, but Kenya seems to be way ahead of us by light years. Very recently I was in Kenya for a music related gig and for my phone call needs I was advised to register with Airtel Kenya. My mistake. Almost everyone I spoke to or wanted to do a transaction with asked me if I was on M-Pesa. And it was only available on Safaricom, not Airtel. Sigh.
All Nigerian Banks now have a code for doing bank transactions like buying airtime, Account Opening, Fund Transfer, Balance Check and more without the use of the internet. Here’s a quick summary of all the USSD codes for Nigerian Banks at a glance.
Two separate backdoors into OnePlus devices have been discovered since Monday, and both are the work of a single security researcher.
A Twitter user announced the discovery of two factory installed debug apps on OnePlus devices; one that can root the device, and another that can log and transmit device information. The latter could give an attacker “everything” on a device.
If you’re a OnePlus owner you’re right to be concerned.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 is probably one of the most beautiful phones of 2017. The phone’s best feature is definitely the amazing screen!
Like the recently launched, and still excellent, LG G6, the front of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is almost all screen. And this is really what makes the S8 stand out. Unlike with the G6, though, the display here melts away into the sturdy metal rim. There’s no ‘Edge’ version this year, because both versions have a sloping panel.
Yesterday it was the Blackberry KeyONE, and today it’s the Nokia 3310. Seems it’s the era for comebacks.
Remember the Nokia 3310? I do! This was waaaay before the iPhone, Samsungs and even HTCs. When it was first introduced in 2000, the phone sold more than 120 million copies! Now the 3310 is making a nostalgic return in the form of a more modern variant, thanks to Nokia-branded phone maker HMD.
At a Press Conference in Barcelona 2 nights ago, BlackBerry & TCL – the new people in charge of Blackberry Hardware announced all of the details about its KEYone handset at an hour-long event. The BlackBerry KeyOne is the final version of the device codenamed “Mercury” that they unveiled at CES last month, and it’s by far the most interesting and enticing BlackBerry phone since TCL started licensing the name.
The KEYone is BlackBerry’s first Android handset with a QWERTY keyboard. It’s a tall, enterprise-friendly smartphone with BlackBerry’s DTEK software dumped on top of the OS. It is quite an attractive phone with solid fit and finish, hewn from aluminum and covered in Gorilla Glass 4 on the front.
