Why Your Business Needs To Be on Social Media

Is it every business that needs a Facebook page?

Or a Twitter account? Or even a blog? No. I always tell my clients that it’s not necessary to be on Social Media. I’ve changed my mind, but there are still some exceptions to this rule. (If your website doesn’t require human interaction, no need o).

Here are a 7 reasons Why Your Business Needs To Be on Social Media.

1. Branding:-

Create a recognizable identity for your product or service.

This is extremely important for a small business. Your social media networks are new channels for your brand’s content. This simultaneously makes you easier and more accessible for new customers, and makes you more familiar and recognizable for existing customers. For example, a frequent Twitter user could hear about your company for the first time only after stumbling upon it in a newsfeed. Or, an otherwise apathetic customer might become better acquainted with your brand after seeing your presence on multiple networks.

2. Network with potential clients and customers from all over the globe:-

With social networking sites such as Facebook, StumbleUpon, Reddit and Twitter, among many, many others,  you can hold personal conversations with each of your customers. Tell them about new products, sales and coupons, suggestions and tips – the topics are endless.

3. Improved brand Loyalty:-

Why your business needs social media

Brand loyalty is defined as positive feelings towards a brand and dedication to purchase the same product or service repeatedly now and in the future from the same brand, regardless of a competitor’s actions or changes in the environment.

According to a report published by Texas Tech University, brands who engage on social media channels enjoy higher loyalty from their customers. The report concludes “Companies should take advantage of the tools social media gives them when it comes to connecting with their audience. A strategic and open social media plan could prove influential in morphing consumers into being brand loyal.” (Forbes)

4. Social media is a great way of promoting your content:-

We all know how important content marketing is, not only in terms of SEO and traffic, but in order to attract new customers. Help increase awareness of each new blog article or news post that you publish, by shouting about them on social media.

Social media when used in conjunction with high quality content creation is a highly effective way to attract new customers to you and also helps you to build authority in your area of expertise.

5. Decreased Marketing Costs:-

According to Hubspot, 84% of marketers found as little as six hours of effort per week was enough to generate increased traffic. Six hours is not a significant investment for a channel as large as social media. If you can lend just one hour a day to developing your content and syndication strategy, you could start seeing the results of your efforts. Even paid advertising through Facebook and Twitter is relatively cheap (depending on your goals, of course). Start small and you’ll never have to worry about going over budget—once you get a better feel for what to expect, you can increase your budget and increase your conversions correspondingly. (Forbes)

6. Social media will drive website traffic:-

Without social media, your inbound traffic is limited to people already familiar with your brand and individuals searching for you. Every social media profile you add is another path leading back to your site, and every piece of content you syndicate on those profiles is another opportunity for a new visitor. The more quality content you syndicate on social media, the more inbound traffic you’ll generate, and more traffic means more leads and more conversions.

Being active on social media will help you increase the amount of traffic that your website receives. Successful social media activities will always improve the amount of traffic referrals your website receives, playing an essential initial role in your sales funnel.

and finally…

7. Richer Customer Experiences:-

Social media, at its core, is a communication channel like email or phone calls. Every customer interaction you have on social media is an opportunity to publicly demonstrate your customer service level and enrich your relationship with your customers. For example, if a customer complains about your product on Twitter, you can immediately address the comment, apologize publicly, and take action to make it right. Or, if a customer compliments you, you can thank them and recommend additional products. It’s a personal experience that lets customers know you care about them.

So hope you start as soon as possible to be serious about social media.
