Top 10 Web Hosting Companies (June 2023)

Top Web Hosting Companies. If you have a website, then you most likely have encountered a web hosting service, either via your web designer, or directly. The problem is that some details about web hosting companies are just too technical for the average non-techie. So, we at Pishon Design Studio has analyzed multiple hosting providers and prepared a list of the Top Web Hosting Companies which are not just trustworthy and reliable, but are also available both globally and locally and offer value for money.

Top Web Hosting Companies in 2023

We compared popular web-hosting services across essential criteria like security, uptime and more to help you find web hosting that fits your needs.

1. BlueHost

Bluehost is one of the most popular web hosting platforms. Personally, I feel people use Bluehost because of its massive popularity and not its features. But I digress.

It offers a wide range of features at competitive prices, making it perfect for people just getting started with web hosting. For its Basic plan, you’ll have 10GB of storage, unmetered bandwidth, a free domain for your first year and up to 25 subdomains. Its Plus plan doubles your storage, gives you $200 in Google Ads/Bing credits and provides unlimited primary domains, parked domains and subdomains.

Bluehost is an ideal option for website owners who need a reliable and affordable hosting service that offers a wide range of features and tools to help them manage their site.

2. Siteground Web Hosting

SiteGround is one of the most popular and highest rated hosting provider in the WordPress community. They provide unique in-house WordPress speed and security solutions to make your site as fast and secure as possible. They are known for the best 24/7 support in the industry which is why they’re an official ‘WordPress’ recommended hosting provider.

I don’t like that SiteGround limits storage and the number of site visitors per plan, which is uncommon. The StartUp plan only allows 10GB of storage, which is low compared to most other web hosts. Upgrade one level to double your web space to 20GB, or bump it up to GoGeek, which will get you 40GB. Although it seems stingy, these allowances should be enough for most small businesses.

3. Inmotion Hosting (Editor’s Choice)

InMotion Hosting is a leading web host that stands out for its ultra-low pricing, reliability and security. It offers a long, 90-day money-back guarantee, automatic backups, DDoS protection and malware protection to help further safeguard your site and protect the sensitive information it processes, such as payment information and user data.

Plans start at $2.99 per month. This includes 50GB of storage and unlimited bandwidth as well as a free SSL certificate, up to 10 business email addresses and security features.

We use Inmotion for 90% of our clients, here at Pishon, and we highly recommend their services.

4. Scala Hosting

Scala Hosting is the best cloud-based VPS hosting provider on the market. It offers managed cloud VPS, WordPress hosting, and reseller hosting at affordable prices. Moreover, you get a free domain name, free SSL certificate, and free website migration with every managed VPS hosting plan. Scala’s Entry Cloud plan is faster, more reliable, and more secure than any form of shared hosting.

Best of all? It’s one of the most affordable cloud hosting plans you’ll find.

Scala Hosting offers Entry Cloud for as little as $14.95 per month when you commit to a three-year term. That means you’ll lock in 36 months of upgraded hosting for just over $538 at checkout.

5. Liquid Web

Liquid Web does not offer shared web hosting, which is generally used by individuals and the smallest of businesses. If you want to dabble in that hosting category, you must look elsewhere on this list.

Top Web Hosting Companies

Started in 1997, Liquid Web has become the leader in managed VPS hosting, managed cloud hosting, and dedicated server hosting. They are famous for their fast and high quality support, known as ‘Heroic Support’.

All Liquid Web hosting servers are highly tuned for speed, performance, and security making it a completely hassle-free hosting solution. Their WordPress hosting option includes staging sites, automatic updates, and an intuitive dashboard to manage all your sites in one place. There’s a reason why top companies like Motorola, Red Bull, ESPN, Audi, and FedEx use Liquid Web.

The company’s allocated RAM and bandwidth outpace competitors and give customers luxurious environments primed for speed. Site owners can further upgrade RAM and disk size, as well as capitalize on add-ons for a cPanel Premier 100 control panel, advanced DDoS protection, and enhanced security.

6. A2 Hosting

A2 Hosting is a Linux-based web hosting provider offering standard shared hosting plans, shared and managed WordPress hosting, virtual private server (VPS) hosting, reseller hosting and dedicated hosting. Its basic plan comes with:

  • a single website,
  • 100 GB of SSD storage, and
  • free site migration.

You’ll need a turbo plan to get its Turbo features, which starts at $20.99 per month. A2 Hosting doesn’t offer free domains, but you can purchase one with and without a hosting plan.

Each plan comes with security features like an SSL certificate, dual firewalls, virus scanner and brute force defense.

7. Hostinger

top web hosting companiesHostinger is becoming well-known name in the WordPress hosting industry. They offer affordable hosting, 24/7 live chat support, and a robust platform to host your website. Hostinger comes with automatic 1-click WordPress install, managed automatic updates, enhanced security, free CDN, WordPress speed acceleration, and free site migration. They also offer geolocation specific hosting with a choice of 7 data centers in USA, Europe, Asia, and South America. Hostinger serves over 29 million users in 178 countries.

Hostinger offers three shared web hosting plans, ranging from $1.99 to $3.99 per month. There are eight VPS plans with pricing between $3.99 per month to $77.99 per month. Hostinger also provides cloud hosting for those who want to host websites with large-scale projects.

8. Namecheap

Top Web Hosting Companies

You can literally buy a hosting plan for $2 a month with namecheap. That’s wild. Even the Top Web Hosting Companies on this list won’t go that low.

I’ve used Namecheap over and over and over again, and outside the fact that there’s no dedicated phone line and their customer reps are only available via chat (which can be annoying), they are legit.

NameCheap offers some of the cheapest pricing plans. Month-to-month plans in particular are less expensive compared with monthly plans from other services. Some other services might offer monthly shared hosting plans for $20, but a NameCheap monthly shared hosting plan can cost less than $10.

It’s not like anything crucial is missing from Namecheap’s offer. You do get a free SSL certificate, there’s enough disk space available, you get the AutoBackup feature, and there’s even email hosting included for free.

NameCheap also offers VPS, dedicated, WordPress and reseller hosting plans. NameCheap has a 99.9% uptime guarantee for VPS and reseller plans, as well as a 100% uptime guarantee for most shared, VPS and dedicated plans. Each Namecheap plan comes with a free virus scanner, two-factor authentication and DDoS protection to help secure your data and your visitors’ data.

9. Hostgator

HostGator is a Houston-based provider of shared, reseller, virtual private server, and dedicated web hosting with an additional presence in Austin, Texas.
HostGator hosts over 10 million domains and is one of the most popular web hosts in the industry. With 1-click WordPress installation, 99.9% up time guarantee, and 24/7 support, it’s a smart choice for every website owner.

They are good for beginner websites with not a lot of traffic.

Fun fact: HostGator and Bluehost are actually owned by the same company – Endurance International Group (EIG). EIG are a bit of a powerhouse when it comes to hosting and also own multiple other providers.

10. GreenGeeks

GreenGeeks has become a well-known brand in the WordPress hosting industry with their blazing fast website performance, 24/7 U.S. based support, and an environmentally responsible platform. GreenGeeks offers shared, VPS, dedicated, WordPress and reseller hosting plans. Each plan offers tiered options that let you scale up as your site’s needs grow. Some plans are managed, but at a higher cost. Each plan also includes a website builder so you don’t have to build your site from scratch.

Fun fact: For every hosting account, GreenGeeks plants a tree, and GreenGeeks also creates three times the amount of energy used through renewable energy sources. Data centers contribute about 0.3% of global carbon emissions, according to the International Energy Agency, so GreenGeeks’ environmental commitment makes it a web-hosting option that gives back.
