Let me show you quickly how to turn a song on iPhone library to a ringtone (iPhone 6,7,8,X and XR).<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Things you will need:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A PC or Mac<\/li>\n<li>Cable<\/li>\n<li>Your iPhone<\/li>\n<li>iTunes installed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Step 1: Choose and duplicate your desired song<\/h2>\n<p>Step one on how to turn a song on iPhone library to a ringtone is to open up iTunes and choose the song you&#8217;d like to use as a ringtone. Click on the <strong>My Music<\/strong> tab, right click on the selected song, choose <strong>Get Info<\/strong>, then click <strong>Options.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Choose your desired time settings for Start and Stop<\/strong>. That&#8217;s the one we&#8217;ll use for our ringtone.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2: Change the extension<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7398\" src=\"https:\/\/pishondesigns.org\/Dbase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/options3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"482\" height=\"175\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In our step 2 of how to turn a song on iPhone library to a ringtone,<\/p>\n<p><strong>Right click the new song that was duplicated and select Show in Windows Explorer<\/strong> (if you&#8217;re on a PC). <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">To use it as a ringtone we&#8217;ll need to convert the file type from .m4a to .m4r<\/span>, which simply just changing the extension from m4a (the new AAC extension) to m4r. Then, in case you haven&#8217;t done this when setting up iTunes, go select the iPhone icon in the upper-left corner, go to the <em>Summary<\/em> section and scroll down to <em>Options<\/em>. Check the box beside <em>Manually manage music and videos<\/em> and click <em>Apply.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now back to our mini tutorial, <strong>drag the .m4r file into the <em>Tones<\/em>\u00a0tab located under <em>On My Device<\/em>, which will automatically sync the ringtone with your iPhone. <\/strong>Once inside click Sync Tones&gt;Selected tones&gt;then the track you&#8217;ve created. First, I selected my song and trimmed it using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.real.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RealTimes<\/a> Trimmer. I think it&#8217;s free. Then I saved my trimmed 30 seconds mp3 on my desktop.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7401\" src=\"https:\/\/pishondesigns.org\/Dbase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/realtimes1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"772\" height=\"211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pishondesigns.org\/Dbase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/realtimes1.jpg 772w, https:\/\/pishondesigns.org\/Dbase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/realtimes1-600x164.jpg 600w, https:\/\/pishondesigns.org\/Dbase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/realtimes1-768x210.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 772px) 100vw, 772px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. Then I used the realplayer converter to convert from mp3 to AAC. Any app will do, I think.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7402\" src=\"https:\/\/pishondesigns.org\/Dbase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/realtimes2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"473\" height=\"562\" \/>3. And then on the desktop I just renamed the file from m4a to m4r like in the step in the first section above.<\/p>\n<p>4. And then I imported to iTunes and synced.<\/p>\n<p>5. I have my ringtone.<\/p>\n<p>So you see, for real when you get the hang of it, it&#8217;s not really that bad.
